Mosaic Arts International 2008

"In the Beginning," a triangular stained glass mosaic, was selected to be one of 64 mosaic pieces included in the Mosaic Arts International 2008 exhibition to be held in Miami, Florida in April 2008.

Ilana Shafir's "Spontaneous Mosaics" Workshop

In early April, I had the great opportunity to be with and learn from Israeli artist, Ilana Shafir, her process called "Spontaneous Mosaics." The four day workshop was held at the Chicago Mosaic School. Here you see one of the participants and Ilana Shafir collaborating. My spontaneous mosaic, "Spirit Buck," was the result of my work with guidance from Ilana. If you look closely, you will see a full range of materials used including broken ceramics and porcelain, smalti, stone, pebbles, art glass, and tile.

King William Fair April 2007

Soon after I had a booth at the King William Fair where I exhibited for the first time my mosaic prints. They were well received by the public.

Isaiah Zagar Workshop

Then in June 2007, I participated in the Isaiah Zagar Mosaic Mural workshop with 16 other artists. That's me waving out from the window in the wall.

That's me having the time of my life helping a group of 16 mosaic enthusiasts

Commission mosaics for a private residence in Scarsdale, N.Y.

Finally, here are some new photos from the Scarsdale, N.Y., project completed over a year ago. I especially like the close up of the mosaic which is wet from the sprinklers.

This is a close up of the iridescent glass mosaic in Scarsdale, NY.
Water from the sprinkler adds to the beauty of the mosaic.
